How to use Pricetastic!!

Finding the best prices on the internet has never been easier.

  1. Type whatever you would like to buy into the search box at the top of the screen.
    e.g. if you wanted to buy an American fridge, then simply type 'American fridge'.
  2. Click the 'Find it' button.
  3. A list of all the products fitting the search phrase will appear.
  4. Scroll down the list until you find an item you are interested in.
  5. For information on each item, click the 'More Info / Buy' button.
  6. If the product is available at a number of stores a red'Compare Prices' button will be shown.
  7. Click the red 'Compare Prices' button on the product you want.
  8. A list of the retailers supplying the item appears with the price at that online store, which makes it easy to spot the cheapest price.*
  9. For more information about each of the retailers, e.g. is there a special offer connected with the item with them? or delivery times; or if you wish to purchase the item, click the 'More Info / Buy' button.
  10. To buy something simply click the red 'More Info /Buy' button and follow the directions of that particular shop.

Or you can find and visit online stores direct using the 'Retailers Directory' link at the top of the page. Or the list of merchants on the left of the screen.

It couldn't be simpler!

If you cannot find the product you want, then try altering your search phrase, for example instead of the above 'American double fridge' you could try 'Food Center' or 'side by side fridge freezer' or 'large fridges'. For more tips on searching this website click the 'Search Tips' link above.

If you still cannot find what you are looking for, there should be plenty of similar items to choose from on the page.

All links open in a new window, so it is easy open each of the retailer's information in seperate windows, to compare their terms and special offers.

*Due to a slight delay in the receipt of data, users should double check the prices by clicking on the 'More Info' button of each item and retailer. It should also be noted that not ALL online retailers are represented on the Pricetastic site.

 

 

Pricetastic Search Tips

Here at Pricetastic, we have tried to make our site as simple as possible to use (see the 'How to Use' section for further information), starting with how you find what you are after. Instead of thousands of pages of links to click through, we have one simple search box, so all you have to do is enter a description of what you are after, and click the 'Find it!' button.

For those of you new to using search features, here are some quick tips to get you started...

1) Be descriptive - If you are looking for a widescreen, plasma television, then you need to search for 'widescreen plasma television'; simply typing in 'television' is going to produce a list of thousands of models, which is not going to be particularly helpful.
Likewise, if you are after a particular brand of television, include that brand in you search, e.g. 'Sony widescreen plasma television'.

2) Try slight variations - If your first search doesn't produce the product you are after, try a slightly different search, maybe either being more or less specific. E.g. If 'Sony 5 mega pixel digital cameras' doesn't show the models you were after, you could maybe simply try 'Sony digital cameras'

So the more basic your search phrase, the more choice you will have; the more descriptive the search phrase, the more likely your product will appear on the first page of results.

Results Ordering

The results are displayed in order of relevance, i.e. the first page is those products most fitting your search phrase, however, make sure you look at least three results pages deep, just to be sure.
